desired, to bring the outside in. 

At Michael Sivage Homes and Communities, we take the design of a home
quite seriously, and always have.  We have always understood what our
role is.  We don’t simply build homes, we create spaces for real people to
live within.  In fact, our company takes this charge so seriously, that we
present Design Sensibilities™ – a unique, and proprietary design service
that ensures that our vision, becomes your vision – that our homebuilding
expertise becomes your home – in every sense of the word.

In today’s hectic pace, building a custom or semi-custom home is not a task
for the faint of heart.  It can be so overwhelming in fact, that many people
simply choose to never take it on.  Yet as homebuilders, we know that the
expression of oneself within their home is critical.  Design Sensibilities offers
our clients the comfort in knowing that literally, the thousands of decisions
that go into the process of building a home have been considered and that
the proper functionality of the home has been keenly observed.   

And it is because your unique aesthetic as well as your input is so critically
important to the overall satisfaction of your home, that we have created
a process that welcomes it – so that in the end, the imprint on your
home – is yours.

Our Design Consultant, Judy Morse, will work with our clients to make
this happen, and guide you through this process.   She has decades of
experience working closely with clients to help them express their vision,
needs, preferences, etc. 

We thought it would be helpful to understand some of what makes
Judy so uniquely qualified to serve in this essential role.  We introduce
to you Judy Morse.

Using my BA in fine arts and more than 30 years experience in the design
field … with a diversity of projects spanning the country from California to
Virginia…my passion is to work with home builder’s to create elegant,
relaxed homes with a “unique essence”.

What is unique about your design style/methods?

Working as part of a home builder’s team…it is important to pull together all
the elements surrounding a house…start with a “blank canvas” and create a
theme throughout a home…regardless if the style is Andalusian, Southwestern,
Pueblo, Contemporary or an eclectic mix.  New Mexico is famous for its light, art
and culture…and, or course…it’s fabulous weather.  My goal … as a designer … is
to be sensitive to the desert landscape…to incorporate nature’s colors and textures
into the interiors and outdoor living areas…in order to “deliver” to our clients the
home of their dreams.  Our goal…as a team…is to take the brain damage out of
creating that home.

What is the process of Design Sensibilities™?

Long before we open for sale…we start thinking through literally thousands
of decisions that go into the process of building a home.  In order to create a
home with charisma and warmth…we analyze every detail…from the outside
through the interior.  Our goal is to “read between the lines”…discover what
will excite our clients…and, create the home of their dreams.

We develop the exterior and interior packages during this process.  We
look at the energy efficiency of the home and make choices to impact
that.  Every stucco color…stone texture…flooring material…are weighed
in the overall scheme of the final product.  They have to meld together
for the final product to be the multi-dimensional work of art we strive for
as a company.  To “be one” with the environment and the community.
